In 2000, the Cissna Park State Bank’s board of directors established the Mr. and Mrs. D.A. Frederick Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $4,000 to a graduating Cissna Park High School senior. The scholarship is based on academic excellence, school leadership, and community involvement. This scholarship not only commemorates the bank’s founder, but pays tribute to the excellent school system in Cissna Park and promotes the advancement of its students.
This scholarship presented by Cissna Park State Bank to a graduating senior of Cissna Park High School is dedicated to Mr. and Mrs. David Arthur Frederick for their unwavering interest in the community and the Cissna Park State Bank.
Mr. Frederick attended Western Military Academy and the University of Illinois. His entire business career in banking was as the president of the Cissna Park State Bank and the First National Bank in Paxton. Also, he was head of the Frederick Grain Company in Clarence, Illinois.
Mrs. Frederick graduated from Hedding College in Abingdon and taught in the Rankin and Paxton High Schools.
